Performance Counters - Win32 client & Zabbix .NET

    Hello,

I have read a lot of posts with performance counters always return 0.

I have tested with Win32 and .NET client, and I cannot monitor for example \Server\Bytes Total/sec

When I'm in the tree view of .NET client, I can see 0 for value.

Same thing when I try to create in the configuration file, and when I ran the command Zabbixw32 test BytesTotalSec, and it returns 0.

    Many thanks for your help

      Hi,

I do not have an answer. But I do have the same issues. Yesterday I created the next counter:

      PerfCounter = db_server_mem,"\SQLServer:Memory Manager()\Total Server Memory (KB)",60

Initialy it did not work. This morning it started working without any action from me. But the next messages appeared in the zabbix_server log:

004344:20061130:161400 Type of received value [292290.8] is not sutable for [[email protected]] having type [3]
      004344:20061130:161400 Returning NOTSUPPORTED
004344:20061130:161400 Parameter [db_server_mem] is not supported by agent on host [someserver.world.com] Old status [0]
004344:20061130:161400 Type of received value [292290.8] is not sutable for [[email protected]] having type [3]
      004344:20061130:161400 Returning NOTSUPPORTED
004344:20061130:162400 Parameter [db_server_mem] became supported by agent on host [someserver.world.com]
004344:20061130:163608 Type of received value [292320.8] is not sutable for [[email protected]] having type [3]
      004344:20061130:163608 Returning NOTSUPPORTED
004344:20061130:163608 Parameter [db_server_mem] is not supported by agent on host [someserver.world.com] Old status [0]
004344:20061130:163608 Type of received value [292320.8] is not sutable for [[email protected]] having type [3]
      004344:20061130:163608 Returning NOTSUPPORTED
004344:20061130:164616 Parameter [db_server_mem] became supported by agent on host [someserver.world.com]

But this messages are not coming with a constant frequency. The periods with lots of messages are divided by periods without messages. Maybe Windows gives a low priority to this counters. The last messages was during usage by several sessions on the monitored server.

        Perfmon returns something

When I use the perfmon utility, I can see some values.
Bu it is strange some counters are working.

For example, if I want to monitor the server sessions, I can add directly into Zabbix a new item with the following key :

        perf_counter[\Server\Server Sessions]

It is working, but when I try to monitor the bytes per sec with the following counter :

\Server\Bytes Total /sec, I have got always 0 for Win32 client and for .NET client.
