I am attempting to setup monitoring at my company with Zabbix, for monitoring our web services (for example W3SVC service).
I am starting from an existing template containing our hosts we want to monitor and am creating a new Discovery Rule and Item Prototype. If course I've added also an application titled Windows Services. The discovery rule has the following key: "service.discovery"
My item prototype has this following key: "service.info[W3SVC,state]"
My problem is that it only appears to work for some hosts, not all of them.
What I have noticed is that the agent version on the hosts it works for is "2.4.7" and for "3.0.0" I obtain no results (no errors either to go by).
Are my expression string wrong? Should I update all my agents to latest version? Or what am I missing?
Note that I have just started on Zabbix a week ago so I am just getting familiar with it.

I have a networking background.
Our current version of the server is Zabbix 3.0.4
