    Faulty Discovery of Switch Interfaces

    Hello,

we are using the Extreme EXOS by SNMP Template for our network switches. It works fine overall, but I discovered a small problem with the port speed discovery.
The normal ports of the switch send their port speed in Mbit, but the Stacking Ports send theirs in Gbit.

Is there a way, depending on the #SNMPINDEX or the #IFNAME to adjust the Unit of the discovered item?

    With best regards
    Alex

The solution was to create an additional LLD Rule and add a filter in the Rule {#IFNAME} matches SP1|SP2
Then you can add a custom multiplier of 1000000000 in the Speed Item Prototype

Thank you for this post. We ran into this as well.

edit: attached is an updated template if it helps anyone. it renames the existing net.if discovery rule with "(Non-Stack Ports)" appended and adds a filter to filter them out. An additional discovery rule is added with an opposite filter, new set of uuid's, and item/trigger key IDs, along with "(Stack Ports)" appended to the discovery rule name. And, of course, with the alternate multiplier for the speed. Created on zabbix 7.0.13.
