    Monitoring Agent over Public IP

    Hi Zabbix Users,

Would like to how to monitor a Zabbix Agent over the internet(public IP)

Some of our server is outside our network but their network do have a PUBLIC IP so maybe we can monitor that with public to public ip or over the internet.

    Your response is highly appreciated.

    Cheers!

    Hello,
You'll have to redirect the public IP 10050 port to the server 10050 port.
It's better to implement a Zabbix proxy on the remote site to be able to monitor several servers or equipements.
If you don't have big needs, you can install proxy on a RaspberryPi.

      Hi Nico,

Agent is port 10050 and server port 10051.

I've open the port on my firewall (10050,10051) just to obtain this requirement. So the agent dont have any problem communication on the server port 10051.

Not sure if the server or my client cant connect to each other. Please help

      Thank you.

You only have to redirect the 10050 port.
        So everything is OK ?

please Keep in mind, that you have to foreward the Port on to the Agent on the router.

ZabbixServer ---> Router -- Portforewarding ---> Zabbix Agent

              As already said.
There are other solution to "break" the NAT barrier:
use a Proxy Server behind the Router OR use a Active Zabbix Agent. that can be configured on the zabbix-agent.conf

Get value from agent failed: cannot connect to [[xx.xx.xx.xx]:10050]: [111] Connection refused

                Error message

                  Hi Michael,

So the concept is Agent is connectiong to the server?

                  or

The server is connectiong to the agent? <- if this the case should ask my ISP to unblock ports 10050 and 10051?

                  Thanks!
