whats going on with this forum?

I am used to post in forums. I did the same with this one, as i am starting with zabbix and i am completely stuck in setting up traps to work (to the point of thinking on giving up and try other tool now, despite i have a good first impression of zabbix)

The thing is that i see people in forums. Many people.
But any of my posts, got even one answer or suggestion, at least to try to help pointing me in any direction.

As i couldnt be able to find any other posts regarding the same type of problem, i am thinking of leaving zabbix also for this reason.

Are forums so inactive in zabbix and i can only continue paying support?
If this is the case, this probably will be my last post, and my goodbye to the tool and to the forum too.

Well..., forums live by people. It seems that most Zabbix users are just lurkers - I am for sure.

bbrendon, link you are posting is the one that i mentioned have read in my post (you probably didnt read it then) and was my reference to start.
search in google? Do you really think i am posting this and stuck in one problem for about 15 days without searching in google, posts, or docs?
Well, if you think this, just dont. Its not the case and i you had read my posts probably have noticed it. (just mentioned my opinion, not mean to be in anyway rude, aggressive or nothing


kloczec, may be simple for you not for me. I am presenting the problem, and in my post mentioned what message i am able to see in logs. If more technical details are needed, what, in my opinion, is simple to do, is ask for specific information needed. Maybe that is the key of the question. I ve already seen and presented all information that i know would be helpful. Perhaps there are more things to see, and thats were i need help exactly.

At least for me, most of my Zabbix monitored items (95%+) are done with zabbix agents on servers. I have a small number of SNMP items, but even those don't use traps, only polling. I don't think SNMP traps is a very popular thing to do with Zabbix, so not many people know how to help.

I ve joined irc. It seems lot of people are logged there but nobody chats, at least with me (that in my way of think should be the point of irc, but...)
Anyway i left my question there too.
Zabbix seems to a great tool but with a dead community. I am about to leave it, facing that i wont get any way of resolving problems that exceed my capacity in the future.

Well, if there are many complains, maybe its time to consider them not as complains, but as constructive critics to start improving forums and communities.

I left irc opened for 4 days. In those days there were no more that 20 public messages there.
So, sorry if you dont share my opinion, but this is a dead chat, or a space where people chat in private, and i dont know what they do to access this private chats, maybe paid support or something else that i dont have.

Anyway, consider this. In this thread where i mention negative stuff i got responses and got to communicate with other zabbix users. In all the others nothing.


Its a pity, again i have the impression that it is a great tool and would love to use it, if i can figure out how to get out from stuck place. But by now i alone, and by myself in this.
