Zabbix Global view dashboard- inconsistent numbers

We have >1k hosts monitoring , most of them are behind proxies , some are reporting directly to a server, we have both passive and active hosts.
In the Global view dashboard Hosts availability widget I see only 1/5th of all hosts even though vast majority of them have green badge.
I wonder where these numbers come from and what is math behind it?

    Hello!

You can check the configuration of the widget to see what's displayed, but, by default, it only counts Hosts with "Zabbix Agent" Interface, so it won't count your SNMP devices, for example.

That's exactly the question - all our hosts are controlled by agents. Most of them are through proxies. Widget has Agent box checked.

Host availability and enable/disable - are two completely different concepts.

Sure, I get this, my question is where available Hosts number comes from? All 1000 of our hosts are showing green ZBX badge but only 287 shown as available in that widget.

The first thing to start with is to check the settings of the "Host availability" widget because not all hosts are clearly displayed in it (Total < NumberOfHost)
Check host groups, interfaces type, and user rights to hosts.

Widget settings are minimal - we left Host groups blank to catch all and set interface to Zabbix agent. If I unselect agent or select all possible interfaces , I see this-
