    RAM utilization

    Hello Zabbix Community,

I hope everyone is doing well. I am writing to seek some advice and insights regarding a recent issue I encountered with high memory utilization on my Arista DCS-7050QX-32S-R switch after adding it to Zabbix monitoring.

Here's a breakdown of the situation:

Problem: Upon adding the Arista switch to Zabbix monitoring, I noticed that the RAM utilization alert in Zabbix was consistently showing around 90%. However, when I cross-checked the RAM utilization metrics in Observium, it indicated that the RAM utilization was normal and functioning well.
    Details:
Switch Model and OS: Arista Networks EOS version 4.22.3M running on an Arista Networks DCS-7050QX-32S
    Zabbix Server Version: 6.4.14
Template in Use: Arista by SNMP ---- https://git.zabbix.com/projects/ZBX/...et/arista_snmp

    Triggers: min(/arista-switch/vm.memory.util[memoryUsedPercentage.1],5m)>{$MEMORY.UTIL.MAX}

    Observations:
Zabbix Alert: RAM utilization showing 90%
Observium: RAM utilization reported as normal

    Seeking Advice:
I'm puzzled by the disparity between the RAM utilization alerts in Zabbix and the observations from Observium.
I'm wondering if there are any specific configurations or adjustments needed in Zabbix for accurately monitoring the RAM utilization on Arista switches.
Could this issue be related to the SNMP template being used in Zabbix?

    Request for Insights:
Has anyone encountered a similar issue with RAM utilization alerts in Zabbix not aligning with other monitoring tools?
Are there any best practices or specific configurations recommended for monitoring Arista switches in Zabbix, particularly regarding memory utilization metrics?

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Zabbix "Linux: Memory utilization" seems off to me. Earlier it was showing 90.12% but if I take the memory total and used numbers from /usr/bin/free output, I calculate 95% usage. This is concerning and we are lowering our monitoring thresholds as a result.
