Traffic difference between physical interface vs subinterfaces

    Hi,
There is a difference in network traffic calculation between main physical interface and associated sub interfaces. The value for assoiciated sub interfaces are much higher than physical interface. Can someone help to resolve this issue?

First check that you are using 64-bit (high-capacity) counters in your items.

Otherwise, as Zabbix shows the data based on SNMP counters that the device presents, the problem usually is with the device firmware. What is your device and firmware version? Maybe someone has experience about that combination.

        Hi Markku,
        thanks for replying.
yes we are using 64 bit counters in the item. And the devices are huawei routers and switches mostly NE 9000 with version v8r12c10spc300.

I don't know about that specific model but I have very bad experiences about Huawei's capability to provide working SNMP agents. After months of troubleshooting by the provider and Huawei the devices still keep holding the SNMP responses for even tens of seconds (wild, right?). Not apparently your problem above, but that's my experience about SNMP with Huawei.
