log monitoring won't work

Hey,

I try to monitor some logs and look for a specific pattern inside the log.
- I am creating a new item
- Type: Zabbig-agent(active)
- I choose key: log[/var/log/syslog,]
- I set the interval for 1s and save the item.

Then, when I check the latest data, I don't see any logs entry.
I tried to play with this but nothing works for me,

To monitor log file zabbix user must have read access to this file. Please verify it.
