SSH service is down on

Hi,

I am new to the administration and configuration of Zabbix being only a user in the past.

So far I have setup a Zabbix server and 3 Linux-based monitored servers. All of them including the Zabbix server report the following error:

SSH service is down on hostname

The problem is that for none of my servers this service is down.

I use the provided template to monitor ssh : Template App SSH Service

Searching the net has not been resourceful so far to fix this problem. What I am doing wrong? What could be the steps to investigate such a problem?

Version of software I use

I presently use these versions:

zabbix_server (Zabbix) 3.2.1
Revision 62890 30 September 2016, compilation time: Oct 3 2016 04:57:19

zabbix_agentd (daemon) (Zabbix) 3.2.1

Solution found

With many different searches I managed to find an answer to my problem.

This is related to SELinux. The problem was the SELinux boolean zabbix_can_network. It was set to "off". I changed it to "on" with

setsebool -P zabbix_can_network on

Problem gone!
