    Help with closing problem(s)...

    Hello,

First I am new to Zabbix, just installed over the weekend. And, after spending a great amount of time searching for the solution I can't seem to get a handle on this. When a problem shows up how can I close it? If I select "update" on the problem the "Close problem checkbox is "inactive" - can't click in it. If I look at the trigger it is the same, unable to check the box.

Any help is appreciated by this Noob!

You need to go to "source". If opening trigger on host level still shows it as inactive and you cannot check it, then you must move up to template or discovery rule (trigger prototype), and make the change there...

Thank you for your response. Can you be more specific when you say "source". I am new to Zabbix and may not understand all the terminology.

You need to go to place that defines that trigger. Either the template level, or if that trigger is part of some discovery, then to that discovery trigger prototype.
If you have your "problems" list in front of you, and you click on problem name, a menu appears, where you can choose "configuration" ... It opens config page of that trigger. Most probably that trigger is part of some template, so you should see on top something like this (parent triggers and link to template)..

Or if its part of discovery, then "discovered by and link to a template where this discovery comes from"...

Clicking on those links should lead you to "source", where you do not have any more that "Parent..." line there... then you should also be able to check the "allow manual close" box and save it...
