    Recommended strategy to add items

    Hi,

I'd want to use SNMP Agents, I wonder if the only way to add items for a host is by hand, one by one?

For example, I had a few Linux Servers, so I chose Template SNMP Linux OS. But it has only has 6 items.

I'd want to graph and monitor input/output traffic, errors, etc...

    Any ideas?

Can you get the value from that SNMP agent using the snmpwalk command?

In the default setting, the value that can be acquired may be limited.

For example, with the default snmp agent settings of CentOS,
you can not get most of the items set in the Template SNMP Linux OS.

Setting addition is necessary so that more values can be acquired.

Ok, I see, so must I add the by hand, mustn't I?

            Hi,

Unless you find a template that fills exactly all your needs, yes, you have to add the items by yourself.
In my opinion, it's anyway better to do it that way, you're sure to monitor exactly what you want/need and you don't collect useless data.
