Scheduled reports monthly cycle, when will it start

Hi I had some troubles getting a monthly report automatically send over.
When pressing the test button it works fine, so the dashboard, send email functionality works fine as well. (a lot of checkboxes ticked )
However the monthly report never came on the start date I entered.
Now for testing I made a duplicate rule on a daily schedule without any startdate/enddate and this one comes in every day now.

So I edited the monthly version accordingly (removed the start data) only my question is, WHEN will this be 'executed' (do I have to wait till the first of the month again to know for sure or???)

Sven Kodali like written in start post, without a start date it is run on the first day of the month.

Thanks for your reply Brambo. As per the first post, I like to test things before going live so it irks me that the only way to test the monthly schedule is by waiting for the first of the month. It should really just use the start date as the day of the monthly cycle.
