PFsense firewalls and Proxy and Agent

A question for those who are in the know.

Using a pfsense firewall, I can install both the agent and proxy, my assumption is to use the agent to monitor the PFsense, and the proxy for machines and network devices behind the firewall.

I know I will need to change the ports on the agent etc, but my question is is this a recommended setup, or is there a better way ?
