how to disable passive checks in Agent 2

I have some agents behind firewalls that aren't visible to the server; passive checks will not work.

I may eventually work out a NAT solution for this, but, for now, I just want to disable passive checking of those hosts by the server to clear the orange state (Click image for larger version

Get value from agent failed: cannot establish TCP connection
    error.

Is there any way to do this?

Yes: remove all the items on that host that are passive ("Zabbix agent"). Just leave the active items ("Zabbix agent (active)"). This can mean disassociating some templates from the host, maybe replacing them with the "active" variants. Or, if the items are manually configured on the host, maybe you can just edit them to be active instead of passive.

      Thanks for the help!

I removed all non-active templates. The only template left is the Linux Agent Active, but the orange warning remains.

Do you have any other ideas as to how to stop the server from trying to contact certain hosts?

My guess (someone who actually uses Zabbix newer than 6.0 and passive items can comment better) is that the state is somehow still remembered by Zabbix. Try disabling and enabling the host, if it affects.
