WMI without the Agent? is it possible?

    Hello and good day!
    I have a simple, straightforward question - -

Can I use WMI to obtain information about my Hosts without installing the Zabbix Agent?

The goal is to be able to monitor Windows Services and create a notification in the event that one goes down.
The caveat is "No agents". So, can Zabbix do this?

Alternatively, is there any documentation to support polling windows services with SNMP?

    Thank you for your time!
    PT

Bonus: I would love to see a series of videos that outlines what can be accomplished with Zabbix without an agent installed.

So since the built-in WMI items are using Zabbix agent, and in the item there is no possibility to define a remote host to connect to, you need to have the Zabbix agent installed on the host where you want to collect the WMI data.

I don't know what all capabilities the SNMP service on Windows provides. Here is a quick search result: https://forum.checkmk.com/t/check-th...-snmp/36182/13

Something like this could work: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/...hon-from-linux or this: https://github.com/diyan/pywinrm
Windows SNMP is deprecated eventhough it's still there and is usable.

        Deprecated by whom? By Zabbix?
