    Zabbix proxy and snmp

    Hi,

At the moment we have at our company zabbix server and by using active agents we are monitoring our clients servers. But we neet to start using zabbix proxy to have possibility to monitor printers, switches and routers via snmp.
At the moment we stuck after installing proxy connecting it to our server and we dont know what to do next.

Does anyone knows any tutorial step by step how to make proxy gather snmp information from router and then send it to zabbix server?

    Thanks,
    Robert

If you've got zabbix proxy installed then just need to make sure that net-snmp is also installed and then create a host on the zabbix proxy with SNMP address defined and an appropriate template.

        Hi,

When you add your host on the zabbix server, you have an option "Monitored by proxy", where you'll be able to select your proxy.

The SNMP device will send its information to your proxy, and your proxy will relay it to your server.
