    monitoring vCenter

I'm new to Zabbix and not a overly experienced linux user. I'm looking at the documentation for Zabbix and monitoring vCenter. It says the followinging - For virtual machine monitoring to work, Zabbix should be compiled with the --with-libxml2 and --with-libcurl compilation options.

I'm not sure how to do this. I have CentOS 7 x64 installed with Zabbix 3.2. I did the install via the instructions on the Zabbix website for mysql. It didn't mention this step in the installation so I'm wondering if I have to do another step to make the Zabbix installation compatible with monitoring vCenter. How do I compile Zabbix with the suggested compilation options and can I do it after I've set everything up already?

    Thanks for the help.

I installed Zabbix 3.2 on Centos 7 from the repositories and I use it to monitor vCenter and its virtual machines/hypervisors following this (https://www.zabbix.com/documentation.../vm_monitoring)

So the binary version available in centos repository appears to have been compiled with those flags.

If you were installing zabbix by compiling it yourself from source you'd need those flags.

Did you install from the Zabbix-provided packages, or perhaps from packages that are part of CentOS?

Or, did you compile Zabbix yourself?

If you installed from packages that someone else made, then when you start the Zabbix server, you can look in its log file for the startup messages, and it will tell you whether it was compiled with VMWare support:

      Code:

I used the installation instructions on the zabbix website for 3.2 - https://www.zabbix.com/documentation...ion_with_mysql

What is the log file that you are looking at?

        Thank you for your help.
