No Host Unreachable on Active Agent

    Hi everybody,

Ok I have a windows host with an active agent.
All Item accross templates are set as "Zabbix Agent (Active)"
The "Agent Ping" item send data when the agent is up.

The trigger "Zabbix agent on {HOST.NAME} is unreachable for 5 minutes" don't alert when agent is down.

I think is due to the fact that Zabbix server can not check the ping data that it don't receive.

Did I miss something and how can I ping an Active Agent ?

    Hi Marc,

Did you activate the ICMP ping template on your host ?

Hi thank you for your response,

ICMP ping is not applicable here due to firewalls.
I will need need somethings like "no news about the active agent".

      Marc

No problem I forget to tell about firewalls !

The template on the host is "Template OS Windows" and so by cascading the "Template App Zabbix Agent" one is also used.

As far as I know nodata is extremely unreliable in 2.4, but maybe it was fixed in 3.2.
Is you environment THAT aggressive for you to block ICMP? I can came up only with couple of situations when its necessary.

Th for the link i will check this.
Icmp is not posible since hosts are behind router and firewall on another network.
