Clear discovered items after disabling discovery rule

    Hi,

I disabled one of my discovery rules, thinking all discovered items would disappear. Not so. I edited another rule and was able to execute it immediately, clearing all items, but this one won't let me do so. Presumably because it is disabled. How can I proceed?

The best way I found for doing this is the following:

    1. Leave the discovery rule enabled.
    2. Edit the rule, opting to disable lost resources immediately. (deleting does not seem necessary)
    3. Disable all (or some) item prototypes on the discovery rule.

You may choose to execute the discovery rule now or wait for the next cycle. The data should now be removed.

You can also do the same on a template that's used for host... discovery prototyping. I'm not sure of the appropriate terms here, but for example using the VMware Guest template in order to clear data from all discovered VMware virtual machines. The changes propagate to all discovered hosts. (but not vice versa)
