MySQL Upgrade 8.0.35 to 8.0.39 - any known issues or gotchas to be aware of?

    Current specs:
    Zabbix 6.4.9
    MySQL 8.0.35

In order to patch for vulns, I need to update MySQL from 8.0.35 to 8.0.39. The MySQL upgrade documentation seems pretty straight forward (shut down mysql, update binaries, start mysql), but that doesn't really take into account Zabbix.

Has anyone done this upgrade already, and have any pointers?

Should I stop zabbix server as well? Are there any other mysql updates that need to be done?

My last few upgrades have been full version Zabbix/PHP/MySQL upgrades/rebuilds, so this is a bit different.

    Thanks for any assistance offered.

Yes, absolutely. zabbix_server needs a functioning database, so if mysql is going to be offline then zabbix_server should be offline too.

You don't say what distro you're using. Are you not using MySQL packages from your distro?

This is on RHEL 8. Our network security only allows updating from an internal repo, and they don't mirror MySQL, so I have to install from RPM's.
