    HDD sizing for new intallation.

    Hello everyone!

I'm planning my Zabbix installation and now i'm trying to calculate the size of my HDD's.

Because i plan to separate all components on different servers i'm trying to understang how to calculate correctly size of HDD for Proxy and for Backend.

I have plan to do three servers:
    1) Backend
    2) Database
    3) Proxy

I already finished my Database configuration, but i confused how i can calculate HDD size for Backend and Proxy.

Can you give an advice for this two servers?

Those do not need much disk space as there is no data.
4cpu-s, 12G ram,25G of disk for proxy, plenty.
Same for "bakcend". As it does not do any polling, everything is pushed to proxies, then it leaves all of it for calculating of triggers.. If you run frontend on same host as server, then you might want to increase amount of resources. We run it separately. more cpus (8), but otherwise similar..

Expanding on the fly should not do anything special for OS. At one point it just has more resources available .. Its all online activity.

I plan to use virtual servers. That's why i need to calculate all the space i need for that project and put it into the budget for the next year.
I understand what you mean. We can start with the minimum space and expand it if we need, but i'm not sure what the behavior of OS will be after that, so because of that i'm trying to be presice.
