    Help Please!

Is there someone that is able to tell me in little words which is the difference between the agent “zabbix_agent”, the agent “zabbix_agent (active)” and the "zabbix_sender"?
Please help me because I'm very confused on this point!

    Thanks for the help.

The zabbix_agent is the entity on the to-be-monitored server. It is connected from zabbix_server, and responds to queries from the zabbix_server (e.g.: give hdd.free /. Answer: 0k)

zabbix_agent in active form does the same, but in opposite way. It queries the zabbix_server, and asks: what should I monitor for? This is monitored, and given to zabbix_server. In this way, when the zabbix_server cannot retrieve data from zabbix_agent, the data still will be monitored, and given when the connection is back.

zabbix_sender is AFAIK an internal thingy. It is the part that does the queries, but maybe someone can fill this in.

Thanks a lot for the help, DiedX. Now it's all OK about zabbix_agent and zabbix_agent(active).
There is someone that can tell me something about zabbix_sender?
