what happens if the proxy lose contact with its database?

When the zabbix proxy database is down, will the monitoring be buffered on disk, or what happens?

Don't really recall consciously doing such test, but pretty sure it will stop operating. Whether it will crash or if process will just hang active but not operational - not sure.

Will be curious to hear if anyone actually did this kind of scenario testing.

zabbix-proxy.service - Zabbix Proxy just fails to start, observed this case when we had an outage last time

Zabbix 7 is suppose to have some kind of buffer though, and be able to run without it?

Based on description of that new feature in " What's new in Zabbix 7.0.0 " section of documentation, to me new buffer seems like performance optimization, rather then something that is aimed at allowing proxy to run without database.
