Using scripts without zabbix_agent or SNMP

Hello,
well ... Would there really be someone here who uses Zabbix in a more elaborate way that with his Zabbix_agent, or SNMP?
To use scripts in discoveries (and LLDs), the documentation is simply nonexistent, and unusable because it is incomprehensible.

Does anyone have any experience using scripts returning lists of values?
