Migrate host inventory only to new server - v6.0 to 7.0

I have an older existing 6.0 server, and a newer 7.0 server. I know I can move the config over completely, but what I would like to do is just move over the hosts. The 7.0 server has about a dozen hosts, some additional users, and a SAML auth config I don't want to redo. I can use ansible to change the client agent config to show the new server IP easily enough, but is there any way to mass migrate only the host inventory over?

Query hosts config over API, save it, submit to new version over API. Then you dont have to worry about conflicting ID-s etc.. You probably need also hostgroup config also..
