    Zabbix Action Time Period Issue

    Hi all,

We have many actions which are set to alert only during working hours (7a-6p). The issue we saw last night is that an alert occurred about 6:30a, and was still in a problem state at 7a. However zabbix did not send an alert at 7a, because no new event occurred.

Is there anyway to cause this to occur? Is there an enhancement request for this? I couldn't find anything in my searching.

We still want the trigger to fire, so it is visible on the dashboard, during non-working hours. That means adjusting the trigger to only fire during working hours is not an option.

Multiple-event generation does not sound like a good solution either, as it would create many unnecessary, frequent events in our environment.

    Thanks for any information,
    Jackie

One option that we have found, that may work for you if you want to avoid all the alerts from a given device.

Instead of limiting the alerts using the time period setting under actions, put the device(s) in maintenance over night. That way the alerts still show on the dashboard, and zabbix does send out the alerts when the maintenance period expires.

We have not chosen to do this, we just check the dashboard in the morning.
