Monitor remote agent with multiple interfaces

Hi,
New to Zabbix... I'm trying to monitor a remote zabbix agent that is configured with a failover IP address that uses a separate ISP. In Zabbix, I configured the device with 2 agent interfaces for example 1.1.1.1 as default and 2.2.2.2.
I am able to monitor normally when the 1.1.1.1 IP is reachable, but if it goes down I expected the Zabbix server to monitor 2.2.2.2, but this does not happen.

Perhaps there is a better way?

What if you don't use an IP address but a DNS name instead?

I'd have to setup dynamic DNS, not sure if that device is capable of that.

Never found a way to do this, I'll have to look into some other way - probably add multiple hosts even though its a single host with multiple interfaces.
I'm wondering why there is even the option of adding another agent ip address if it doesn't work?
