SMTP Server on Config Page (MEDIA)

Hi there, I'm a newbie (figured I'd be honest right away) - I got Zabbix working, it is accumulating data from my client machines and itself.. as well, its generating errors that I can see in TRIGGERS and ALARMS - however.. it doesn't seem to want to send email to anyone.

I attribute this to a user (me) error, and configuration problem.

I'm on Fedora Core 2, using the localhost SMTP server.

My Config in ZABBIX is as follows:
    Description: Email
    Type: Email
    SMTP server: localhost
SMTP helo: <not sure what needs to go here>
    SMTP Email: zabbix@localhost

I'm sure the problem lies within this configuration, and most likely at the helo line, but I don't have a clue what to put in, the manual doesn't have anything that offers any suggestions, and Google was a bust for information.

    Can anyone help me pls?

This is what ends up in my MAILLOG:
    Mar 9 13:47:20 SERVERNAME imap-login: Aborted login [127.0.0.1]
Mar 9 13:47:20 SERVERNAME sendmail[4430]: j29IlKF2004430: SERVERNAME [127.0.0.1] did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to MTA

From what I can gather, it looks like it's making a connection - and then disconnecting without sending anything.

Any help that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated, and please let me know if this was posted to the wrong area.

    Regards,
    Jason

Thanks for the reply. I thought I had posted this in the right place, if not, can you tell me where I should have posted it?

      Thanks,

In fact it seems that the HELO is not the causus of the mail delivery failure, you must configure alarms you want to be alerts, i'm still working no to find it

            Hey !

If you are still there !
I have found how to configure emails.

You must set an email for admin in "users" => "media"
Then go in triggers (the one on middle), set the actions of alerts^^

Personnaly i set it with "ON/OFF" mod and you need to select "admin" for group to mail!

It will work fine, if it doesn't have a long look at your triggers' actions!
