    Zabbix error: cannot read from socket: [104] Connection reset by peer.

    Gooday all, hope you can help me

    I have a Windows server running virtual box, with my zabbix server on. Everything is going great on there and have a good experience. I wanted to install a secondary server and installed the proxy to talk to my main server. This secondary server is on another location with a different network, and I want it to monitor the hosts on that network. My second server is also a windows server with ubuntu on VirtualBox. I have port forwards done on the server side for port 10051 on TCP and the DNS is setup.
    On the Proxy server I have setup the "Server" that is my DNS and then the "Hostname" that is the same as my Proxy Name on the Gui of my zabbix server. The only other settings I changed was the "DBName" as I am using SQLite.
    On the Gui under Proxy's I see that my proxy server is online, but none of my hosts is working through the proxy. On the proxy I see on the log I get an error: cannot obtain configuration data from server at "office.rubicscctv.net": cannot read from socket: [104] Connection reset by peer.

    Host have been added to be "Monitored by" proxy server

    I did not change any other setting on the server side, please let me know if I am missing something

    Looks like there is a problem with communication between the server and the proxy.
    Editing db in the proxy config is not enough.
    You should also look into:
    Server=<your server ip>
    Hostname=<name_of_your_proxy>

    If you have opened ports only on the server side - it might be a good idea to run proxy in the active mode. Look into:
    ProxyMode=

      Thanks for your response. The proxy mode is on active, and the state actually goes to online, so the proxy is connecting to the server but no further data goes through.
      I did mention that I changed the 3 settings on the Proxy's config folder "Server", "Hostname" and "DBName".

        Try checking if there is a connection between proxy and server. Run
        Code:
        telnet office.rubicssctv.net 10051
        on the proxy.
