    Why Do Printers Have Agents?

For some reason, zabbix keeps adding the Agent Interface on my printer host.
Even when I delete the Agent Interface (because my printers only talk SNMP) and I recheck some time later, the agent Interface is re-added.

Is there a way to permanently remove the agent interface for my printers?

I haven't seen this issue: what version of Zabbix are you using?

Does it keep re-populating the field as well, or can you just leave it blank?

Interface definition is almost since-always ;P
maybe not always but very long time.

      About agent interface.
Agent interface will be used only if set of metrics will have any "zabbix agent" or "zabbix (active) agent" type keys.
      Just ignore this part.

        Zabbix 3.2.4.

Maybe because of the auto-disovery Rule?

Agent interface is used also for ICMP ping checks, for example.
I suppose it's getting configured because in your discovery (or maybe in your template too) you use ICMP Ping.

Right you are, Madam or Sir.

A new discovery rule (without the ICMP) does not add the agent.

            Thank you!
