Zabbix not able to detect/query Agent

I have a network device with Zabbix agent for 6.4 installed and the device itself is Debian 10.

Zabbix agent doesn't say that it can't connect, or that there's some other error, it just says status = unknown.

I can query from the zabbix server to the device and get data from the agent so I know it's working and is passing back data.

Okay well this wound up being simple to solve and I've spent hours on it lol.

Long story short, without a template selected it just stays as unknown in the status
