How to ensure that Zabbix services and alerting works

For the moment, I do have the Zabbix docker stack configured and working great.

But, I am quite unsure how do I be sure, that the Zabbix services itself works OK?

    The main questions is:
If there is a problem with Zabbix server or any other service like alerts, do I would be notified (with configured Emails) that something goes wrong? Does that monitoring actually work?

Let me know how can I be aware of those problems or how do you resolve this? Thanks!

    Who watches the watchers..
If your whole stack is dead, of course you will not get any notifications, there is nothing to calculate triggers, send ut alerts etc...
Without 3rd party involved, it is pretty much impossible. Be it a script in crontab to verify and email you something. Or if you have some additional tool with heartbeat (failure) function, you can use that...

Thanks, I was thinking along those lines, but I decided to ensure there is no 'plan B for everything' at Zabbix itself. Thank you for your answer, Cyber.

Monit. Monit is small, flexible and standalone. It is an ideal watcher of watchmen.
Zabbix will send you an email if the database is broken, but Monit can restart services, run scripts etc.
