    Monitor VM

    Hello,

I am using Zabbix 3.2.4 on my Ubuntu 16.04.
Also I have VMWare Workstation 12 Player and couple of instances of Virtual Machines.
Now I am wondering is there some way to monitor those instances of virtual machine and retrive data about their performance(CPU usage, Memory usage, state of VM ...). I want to get those information from Ubuntu(outside of VM).

So, any cookbook ,any how to configure Zabbix is wellcommed

    Hello!

Zabbix only supports vCenter or vSphere hypervisor monitoring out of the box. In this case Zabbix uses VMWare API.
Workstation, on the other hand, only supports VIX API, which only allows to manipulate VMs, as far as I could understand from a quick documentation inspection.

For example, Xenserver is also not supported out of the box, but a custom implementation is made and available: https://share.zabbix.com/cat-app/clu...n-pyton-xenapi
I could not find the same for Workstation. You would require to write something similar with an integration with VIX or any other API, but actually I doubt it is possible for Workstation.

List of supported VMWare API/SDK: https://www.vmware.com/support/pubs/...infrastructure

So, if I understeand you well, there is no way to install zabbix agent on ubuntu, and then use that agent to monitor virtual machines on that ubuntu?

Not for VMWare Workstation edition out of the box. More advanced hypervisors - possible indeed.
At least as far as I could tell from quick search.
