Python app grab data from Zabbix?

Afternoon folks,
I am building some simple utilities in Python for troubleshooting for our teachers/students. One thing I started to wonder is, has anyone used any Python/Jupiter etc to use an api to read specific interface data from certain monitored assets? I am looking for help/suggestions before I go down a rabbit hole this weekend.

A modern python zabbix module is used.
And also a popular way to simulate industrial development is the dotenv module.

There is also a lot of code for the old community module pyzabbix, but it is very similar to new one.
