how to add ifalias value into snmptrap interface down?

    hi!
i ve got request from netowrk guys -when interface snmptrap down comes from cisco router, trap doesnt have ifalias variable in it ,just ifdescription by design , they want that i somehow produce that ifalias vaules and paste with trap info into problems dashboard .line. how? i really dont want to do polling of ifalias for that interface down after i recevied its snmptrap . it is losing sense of trap (slowing down process of showing trap in dashboard),cause device maybe never answer or whatever) and addding utilisation on zabbix , specially for flapping interfaces . is this doable anyhow with some elegant solution because i dont see it. I am running zabbix 6.4 on linux oracle 8.
thx in advance for your help.
    br,

Pretty old question but anyway... We resolved this by creating custom trap-handler which converts traps to zabbix trapper items and add's portindex to trapper item-key, so that ifup/down traps are defined in LLD-part, that way you can add, whatever data is discovered during LLD, to ifup/down traps. Like this: trap 1.3.6.1.6.3.1.1.5.3 gets converted to zabbix trapper named if.down[23] where 23 is port index from trap and in LLD-part we create those if.down[{#SNMPINDEX}] items...
