Partial discovery when SNMP Agent is available. "Cannot send request..." message

    Greetings

Had just discovered (no pun intended) that interface discovery has not been successful to build the items even though can snmpwalk the device and Zabbix confirms the SNMP Agent is available.

    1. Unsure why it returns "Cannot send request" message when executing and why is "Test" option disabled?
    2. Latest Data does show other discovered parameters and items so why say "it's not monitored"?

Has anyone come across this before? I don't think it matters SNMPv3 or SNMPv2 as I can walk the device with both protocols.

This is dependent item discovery. Dependent items dont get data themselves, they expect the master item to get the data, copy value from it and do whatever they want with it.
Go to items on your host and find Item named "Linux: SNMP walk network interfaces", check it's state, check if it has any more comprehensive explanation why it failing.

Thank you for this. For some reason at the Item view under hosts, as suggested, the status was "disabled" . Unsure why when I enabled the discovery item at the template level.
