    Monitor Zombie Processes in Windows

    Hello everyone.

I'm very interested is Zabbix and already use it to monitor out´r whole infratructure.
At least a little question is remaining: Is is possible to monitor Zombie-processes in Windows ?

    Thx.

    Hi and welcome,

question from me to you: What exactly do you mean with Zombie processes in Windows? Do you mean processes with no memory, disk and/or CPU activity? And when becomes a process a zombie process? Last but not least, what do you want to achieve by monitoring the zombie processes?

At least i guess Zombie Processes are the same type in Windows and Linux. The processes are active, but they don't respond any advertises. They don't kill themselfes, they simply are undead like zombies.
I want to monitor, like at Linux systems, if a process is "undead" or not. In this case Zabbix doesn't give me the answer, that the process is not available for my collegues. It is still "alive" but doesn't do it's job. I want to achive, that I can restart this processes, before problems appear. (e.g. an Active Server-Job)

So to be clear, you want to restart a zombie process so it will turn into a living process? That sounds a bit off to me.

As far as I know and correct me if I'm wrong, zombie processes are a member of a main process and you only can get rid off those zombies by stopping the main process.

But I'm not an expert in software architecture so I think I can not help you further.
