I sat up VMware discovery with the VMware template. But I added some customizations to automatically link the relevant OS-Template (by Zabbix Agent) to the discovered VMs.
For the local VMs that works great, but we have some VMs on remote ESXi that are managed by our local vSphere. So the remote VMs are also discovered and the relevant OS-Template is linked to the Host. Now the Problem is that the remote VMs should be monitored by a Zabbix Proxy on the remote ESXi.
I can't find a way to configure the discovery in a way that assigns the Zabbix Proxy as responsible for the remote VMs.
