    Ubuntu Installation Components

Installation onto a Ubuntu 24.04 server has prompted a couple questions. Is there a recommended installation component (for Ubuntu) to choose that will provide its monitoring capabiities from a Windows based client machine? When selecting the Zabbix Component to install, I find it a bit difficult to choose which to install as there are so many. For typical functionality with accessability from a web browser on a Windows based machine, which of the (7) different component options is recommended? I checked in the installation docs looking for descriptors about each of the components but must be blind in one eye and unable to see out of the other.

ID:	503402 When selecting the package to download, ie OS, OS version etc. there is also a column whose heading is "Zabbix Component". In this column there are server frontends, proxy and agents among other things listed & based upon the selection is what is presented in command boxes to run for the installation. I realize I will need the server and assume that the agent is the component on the server installation that gathers the information from the source configured to monitor. The agent 2 I understand is capable of utilizing additional plugins. My question deals specifically with which "Zabbix Component" to install that will make it possible to monitor items such as a firewall appliance. I wish to avoid having to remove a installation in order to install a different set of components.

Thanks for your response. That does clear up things a bit so go to be able to verify before taking the time installing something I do not need. As for the PG database, I already have PG installed on another server VM so that part will be taken care of. Good to know about no indicators during the installation, patience at times can be trying if the expectations are not already known.

Oh they definitely do... It is just a matter of reading simple things, like requirements...
