    SNMP device: result is shown as hex-value

    Hi,

    I have the following problem. I would like to monitor the temperature of a Rittal CMC III Processing Unit with SNMP.

    In order to do that, I added a host and created a new Item, where I put in the OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.2606.7.4.2.2.1.10.1.2. As "Type of information" I choosed "Log". If I now check the result under "Monitoring" - "Latest Data", it just brings out a HEX-String (32 38 2E 30 30 20 B0 43). Even if I change the Type of Information to another setting, the expected value (28.10 °C) isn't beeing displayed.

    If I querry the same OID in the tool "SNMP Tester" and choose "String", I´m getting the correct expected Value "28.10 °C". How can I get this value in zabbix? I think the best way would be, to use an external Script - but I do not know, how it should look like. Can anybody please help?

    Thanks a lot!

    Hello waterproof!

    What is the output of snmpget command for the specified OID, if you run it as zabbix user?

      snmpget

      Hello,

      how / where can I run snmpget as zabbix-user? Or should I just run snmget on my cent os server? If I do it there, I'm getting the following:

      # snmpget -v2c -c public 172.19.230.241 1.3.6.1.4.1.2606.7.4.2.2.1.10.1.2
      # SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.2606.7.4.2.2.1.10.1.2 = Hex-STRING: 32 34 2E 39 30 20 B0 43

      Thanks a lot!
