    Mass template upgrade

Hello everyone, what options are there to update all templates at once? Downloading and updating each one individually would take forever. I've seen there are bundles here but I can't import them - I always get the error "Unexpected server error" but I don't see anything about it in the logs.

This still sucks in 2025 :-(
In theory you should be able to do something like, take the DB creation script and extract the part of it which creates the factory templates. Rename all the new templates to _factory_<whatever> then import that with SQL.

I don't have a solution for template mass upgrade, but came here to tell that I've used Zabbix about 10 years now in various installations, and I haven't yet had a need to mass upgrade templates. I have edited many of them, and upgraded some (I even have a process for one special template that needs manual additions and re-import every now and then), never had real problems with them.

I'm saying this because I know there are people out there that think they have to upgrade every single Zabbix template (used or not) in their systems with every major or minor Zabbix upgrade, and that's simply not true. If a template upgrade brings you good new features or the old template didn't work correctly, go for it. Otherwise, no need to upgrade them in general.

Why are you talking about your preferences when the question is about the existing functionality? You don't need it, no one needs it, got it.

            Hi there,

You can use this at this moment : https://github.com/Udeus/Zabbix-Update-All-Templates
            It works perfectly with 7.2.x

I like to keep the templates up to date because I want my templates to be using whatever the latest features and techniques are. Sure, the old ways of doing things may still be supported, but I want to know what the state of the art is.
