How to set up SNMPv3 Trap with my devices

    Hello,

I come here again, after this topic : Snmp TRAP v3 configuration on DEBIAN 12 - ZABBIX Forums
    Thank again for this help.

I'm here again because I found nothing from documentation or anywhere for my question.

    INFORMATION :
    - I have no machine in my zabbix inventory.
    - Same configuration in the link.
    - All my devices have trap configuration where is target my ZABBIX.

Now, I have an another problem. How can I get SNMP TRAP v3 notification by my devices ?

    Best regards,

    Yrzq.

Hey mate, long time no chat

Do you see your production Traps in Zabbix SNMP trap log?
If no - do you know if your production devices send SNMP Traps or SNMP Informs?
If Traps - did you add them and each device with each device EngineID to /etc/snmp/snmptrapd.conf (and reloaded snbmptrapd after?)
If Informs - you sure devices are actually sending traps and they arrive? You can do tcpdump on zabbix side from capturing traffic destined for snmptrapd port -> feed it to wireshark -> check if you see relevant packets -> if needs be, go to Edit - Preference - Protocols - SNMP - User table - add your credentials, for wireshark to be able fully decrypt the packet
If yes - you need to create Zabbix hosts with same IP as noted in log file header (the line "timestamp ZBXTRAP 127.0.0.1") IP/Hostname after ZBXTRAP keyword should match the processing said for host in Zabbix. Then also need to ensure the host has proper snmptrap items on it to start reading values into them. You can start with

In essence: provide more information in form of something like:
    I have A, B, C
    I expect: D, E, F
    What happens is: X, Y, Z
