Timescale db version compatibilty and updates

I'm running timescale db with zabbix 7.
One of the issues I have is every time timescaledb comes out with a new version zabbix does not support it. Which I can understand.
Zabbix is always at least one verions of time scale db behind.
Is this an issue, or can I just install the latest version of timescale db and rely on backwards compatibility as long as I stay within minor updates?

On my side I have a timescaledb to a not supported version. It works mostly fine but I think compression is not enabled.

it corresponds to the supported timescaledb for zabbix 7.0.8. Unfortunately I have version 2.18 installed. I don't know if we could downgrade version easily. By the way as mentionned here in my case I just have to update zabbix server.

I'm also interested in what is the impact of having a too recent timescaledb version.

I have run unsupported TS version without any issues for quite some time. Same reasons as here, TS version comes earlier than Zabbix and unfortunately I have no option to delay some packages..
Never had issues with compression.. .
