Help with showing SNMP issues in the Zabbix Current Problems main dashboard

    Hello,

I'm testing devices in my new build of Zabbix. I would like to show any device/host which SNMP availability issues and remove any ICMP ones, is this possible?

At the moment I have 2 devices added via the Generic SNMP template, due to a firewall rule ICMP is blocked hence the alarm, can we ignore/remove these ICMP alarms for ICMP?

What I want to added is an SNMP availability issues instead, is this possible?

I've managed to get SNMP to stop working on a device:

But nothing shows in the dashboard for this issue. It should be triggered already I think?

Just disable that ICMP trigger (and item, if it does not work anyway).
That trigger "No SNMP data collection" is basically your "availability issue" trigger.

Hi Cyber, thanks for your time here, I just tried that but still nothing is showing up unfortunately.

I wasn't sure if it was based on this OID too (below), which has no trigger (above).

The current dashboard is set to view all problems as you can see nothing shows for devices with no SNMP availability.

I did notice this too, but can't see why it's disabled:

On the host > triggers I did create this manually which is now showing up which is good, but I would have thought this alert would have already been in Zabbix which makes me feel I didn't need to do this. Also I've guess I need to add this to 'Generic SNMP' template and not as a host trigger because when I add a new device it won't get this and I need as a global trigger for any device added?

Trigger is present in template, but it has dependency to that ICMP trigger. Meaning... it will not fire, if ICMP trigger is already active. Which, in your case, is by default....

you can remove that dependency in tempalte, from that trigger config... But I would suggest you to leave those out of the box templates as they are, clone them with your own name and modify those and assigne those modified ones to hosts... Otherwise you will be a bit of trouble when you want to update templates, it will overwrite your mods ...
