    Email Agent?

    Hi,

My application generates events as email not SNMP, and i want Zabbix to processes these events and take action on them. The events have a fixed template that is amenable to processing.

There does not seem to be a standard agent to do receive email, or am i missing something?

    Best Regards
    Vishnu

Yes, that is correct. The application is a very old application, and sends emails instead of SNMP traps. So, we want these emails to be redirected to our zabbix infrastructure.

There is no function to link directly from Zabbix server to mail.

Depending on the mail system used, you can run the script when you receive the mail.

If you are using such a mailing environment,
you can use .forward etc to send the value to the Zabbix server using the zabbix_sender command when receiving the mail.
