    Update PHP version

    Hello everyone,

We are running Zabbix 3.2.6 on CentOS 7.3, looks like the PHP version we have installed is 5.4.16 which we probably need to upgrade - anyone has suggestion for a target version and how to do it without breaking Zabbix?

(We installed php and php-mysql as part of the pre-req for zabbix installations)

    Thanks!

I haven't needed to do this on a zabbix server, but I've used this method before. (have a good backup!)

The yum-plugin-replace package can be installed and used to replace one installed package with another.

What version of PHP are you running?

Did you install it from repos? When I run yum update I don't get an update to the 5.4.16 version.

It also won't install the yum-plugin-replace you suggested...

Yes, I don't recall which repo we used and briefly searching, this method may be outdated. It looks like remi repos are available for each version of php, you just add the repo you want, but then I don't know if yum replace will work, or if you can just yum update.

        Discussion here
RPM of PHP version 7.0.12 are available in remi-php70 repository for Fedora and Enterprise Linux (RHEL, CentOS). RPM of PHP version 5.6.27 are available in remi repository for

It would definitely be worth having a test system at your level to play with, even if just on virtualbox :-)
