How should cause and symptom setting work?

Hello to everyone

i'm bit puzzled with cause-symptom setting and documentation doesnt say it clearly...
For example, i have 5 hosts with ping monitoring and 1 of them is gateway for 4 other, gw goes down and then those 4 are unreachable and i select alarms from those 4 hosts and click alarm of gw and select "Mark selected as symptoms", this goes as defined in manual and all is good.
Then those alarms clear and after a while appears again(gw goes down), now I need to do same again, redefine cause-symptom pairs. Is that a way how it should work? Pretty useless feature if so...
Items and triggers come from template if that matters.

After a while you have separate incident, so you need to redefine those... At least thats how I understand it... Zabbix does not know relations between hosts to mark them automatically...

Silly me, I thought it would create relation between triggers and do that automatically once human has done that one time. So, it's useless feature...
