    Add windows services in zabbix3

    Hi,
I upgraded my zabbix server from V1.8 to 3.2 on ubuntu 14.
With the standaard template (template OS windows) alle the items are monitored correctly.

Now i want to add some specific windows services to the template but the standaard service[state] doesn't work anymore.

How can i add specific windows services to monitor on zabbix 3

You can now use the service.info key to monitor Windows services. I've added a few templates using them. The basic settings are:

    Type: Zabbix Agent
Key: service.info[Whatever the service is called in Windows]
    Data Type: Decimal
    Store Value: As is
    Show Value: Windows Service State

You need to make sure that you're using the exact name that Windows uses for the service, not the display name for the service. On your Windows systems, go into Services and check the properties of the service you're looking to monitor. You'll see both a service name and a Display name, which may not be identical. You want to set your key to the Service Name. In your example above, you may also want to change the value from Service state to Windows Service State, which gives you a much better view of the state of the service than just running or not running.

As an example: in order to monitor the Print Spooler service, you need to use the key service.info[Spooler] since the name of the actual service is Spooler.

You may also have better luck creating your own Template just for the application and adding the service monitoring as a unique item as opposed to trying to add them into an existing template. I've done this for several different applications, where I monitor the service and have triggers for a stoppage or pausing of the service.
