    {Host:icmpping.max(#3)}=0 . What does #3 mean?

    Hi All,

    I am in Zabbix and would appreciate someone could guide me.

    First;
    {Host:icmpping.max(#3)}=0 . What does #3 mean?

    Second;
    I would like to have an alert trigger when there is no icmp reply from the host after 2mins. How does the parameter like?

    Thank you

    Trigger when no icmp from host till 2mins

    Hi,

    Please find response below:-

    1. {Host:icmpping.max(#3)}=0 . What does #3 mean?

    # means latest collected value
    max(#3) → maximum value of the three latest values

    2. Alert trigger when there is no icmp reply from the host after 2mins
    {Host:icmpping.nodata(2m)}=1

      Hi,

      Thank you for your info.
      I had tried your suggestion but didn't get trigger after 4 to 5 mins.
      {Host:icmpping.nodata(2m)}=1

      Managed to get trigger when closed to 2 mins.
      {Host:icmpping.max(2m)}=0

        icmpping[] key returns these values
        0 - ICMP Ping Fails
        1 - ICMP Ping successful

        Trigger function .nodata will fire only if NO data will be received. Even response 0 is a value, that's why trigger won't fire.

        Trigger .max() functions will work as expected and described above.
